What We're Looking For

The kinds of films, documentaries, series, filmmakers, and partnerships Farmhouse Studios wants to encounter.

Farmhouse welcomes introductions, conversations, and carefully considered inquiries from filmmakers, producers, cultural partners, and aligned collaborators.

The studio is especially interested in projects with a clear point of view, memorable characters, cultural or emotional specificity, realistic scope, thoughtful audience potential, and filmmakers open to serious collaboration.

Projects That Tend to Fit

  • Independent films with a strong sense of place
  • Working-class, family, civic, and intergenerational stories
  • Documentaries preserving people, places, traditions, and meaningful work
  • Evidence-minded stories about buried decisions, institutional silence, and public narratives that deserve a closer look
  • Commercially disciplined genre films with human stakes
  • Hopeful or humanistic speculative fiction
  • Limited series with specificity, restraint, and emotional reach

Despite our folksy namesake, our focus is not limited to rural, Southern, nostalgic, or Americana subjects. “Farmhouse” is a method and sensibility as much as a setting: grounded, handmade, hospitable, resourceful, and built to last.

Farmhouse is also interested in stories that question official versions of events, examine uncomfortable incentives, or follow people trying to bring inconvenient truths into view. The interest is in careful storytelling, not rumor: work with curiosity, evidence, dramatic discipline, and respect for the audience’s intelligence.

What Helps a Conversation

  • A concise summary of the project
  • The current stage of development
  • The creative team or collaborators already attached
  • The intended audience or community around the work
  • The practical question you are trying to answer next

Submissions Note

Farmhouse does not currently operate an open screenplay-upload or unsolicited-submission portal. Please do not send full scripts, decks, screeners, or confidential material unless requested after an initial conversation and appropriate submission terms are in place.

For now, start with a short note through the contact page.
